Keeanga-Yamahtta Taylor explains here, “how decades of exclusion of African Americans from much of the housing market gave way to a period of predatory inclusion”. Taylor’s “predatory inclusion” theory is the best explanation I’ve seen for why the Black home ownership rate hasn’t increased over the last half-century.
